5) What about power consumption?
To maintain temperatures in the range of wine storage, the unit will operate for much less total time than it would as a normal refrigerator/freezer, resulting in much lower energy consumption and cost. When it is not running, the fridge consumes no energy. The WINE-STAT consumes less than 2 watts, which is negligible - less than one small "night-lite".
